The Best Dosa in The World?

I was told that CTR sells the best dosas, so I went to Bangalore to find out! Is CTR better than my favourite Bengaluru dosa point - Umesh Refreshments?

Karl, in Bangalore, if you prefer thick chutney, you can ask for "gatti" chutney and they will almost always have this thick version of the chutney.

I like the way you give a clear opinion. Taking on CTR's reputation is not easy. My opinion is that CTR and Vidhyarthis were really better at one point maybe in the 90s, but today most other joints have caught on. If one is objective and not blinded by reputation, there is not much difference between CTR and dosas at many other joints in Bengaluru.

Dosa is a diverse meal. Each state in the south does it differently. In Karnataka they are known for their watery chutneys and crispy dosa which is a combo there. In TamilNadu we have thick chutneys and thin dosas. Each type of dosa has its own different prep and output. So you need to start finding out the best dosas in their leagues instead of clubbing them as all one. Go explore and learn more about the south just as you’ve explored the North !
