Crashed jeep recovery out of Elephant Hill Trail(Front axle ripped out)

This was quite the recovery out of Canyonlands National Park on the Elephant Hill Trail. Driver said he had ripped the whole front axle out of his jeep. After seeing pictures we decided to take the wrecker, the jk, and the recovery trailer and the whole crew in after it. It went rather well considering the remote location and the extent of the damage done to the jeep.

I've wheeled all my life and all over the country and consider myself a good driver but that is, hands down, the best display I've ever seen. The rest of us are playing for second place...

If there was an annual Oscar for best recovery video, this would be my nomination. The way the team dealt with the tight turns and steep slopes was phenomenal. And those front wheel digs, and placing of rocks looked so casual, just an ordinary day for someone with those highly developed driving skills. The whole video made experienced rock crawlers look like beginners. To add to all that, great video editing. I felt as if I was walking alongside the rigs. The best ever.

I am simply amazed by Rory's level of skill. In nearly every part of this video, the challenges looked to be near impossible yet he still found a way to clear the presented hurdles. Bravo good Sir. You're skill set is unmatched.

Not going to lie the level of precision and skill really blew me out of the water. No one appreciates how hard it is to tow something on a trail like this. Good job

Unbelievably bad-ass driving skills and the Trail Mater is the best off road vehicle ever created! Proof? Watch the whole video- no questions will remain.

I'm biting my nails over here "watching" this and Rory is driving and drinking a pop. Savage recovery like it was nothing! Well done.

We were in Devils Kitchen for 3 nites, when this happened. We ran into X, ranger who hiked down to review & take photos of the vehicle, axle, and resource damage. I'd not seen this video until today. The right angle in SOB corner after one comes N out of Bobby's Hole is difficult enough for 4 wheel vehicle, but with a trailer behind. Kudos to the excellent work of the Moab "trail mater" who pulled "the whole job off". Both vehicles, axle and dead vehicle.

"Da Beast" gets recovered by the REAL BEAST. You've built an incredibly capable machine, traction all day, and the driving skills are impressive. Love your channel, got here via Matt's/Fab Rats.
It's a pleasure to watch ALL of you guys do your thing!

I love when YouTube shows me old videos. Great recovery, his explanation is definition of “more money than brains”, “going about 45, it’s my play thing”

Don’t think I’ve ever seen someone using a front dig outside of competition videos. It really shows how beneficial it is for a longer rig.
