all these princesses were already strong and amazing. like hello, rapunzel escaped an abusive relationship and reunited with her real family.

jasmine wanted to be a sultan/ruler of her country and was even rejecting all the marriage proposals of the princes because she believed she had more worth than just marry.

mulan is a war hero that saved her father AND her country from the northern invaders.

without the kiss, sleeping beauty would have died or been asleep forever and she was also independent and strong in her own way.

ariel was already confident, she just wanted to explore the world.

tiana worked her ass off her whole life and she finally owns her own business and it is successful.

beauty/belle sacrificed herself for the life of her father bravely despite seeing the beast. she stayed strong through it all even though the village called her weird for being educated and she was the one that saved the beast.

their priotities were their dreams, not the man. falling in love and finding their prince was only a plus. finding a "prince"/lover doesn't make you weak 😭

I think we are all quick to assume the Disney princesses were portrayed as helpless and in need of men. But really most of them were incredibly confident and rocked their own stories. The princes played small parts more often than not.

For example, its he really weird for sleeping beauty to sue the man she was deeply in love with and fought to be with after he saved her life at the end of the story. Her power move would be to get married and kive happily.

What would actually happened:
Rapunzel would still be Gothel's prisioner and even if she escaped she won't last long without Flynn's support and protection, even if she stays, she would go crazy from loneliness or starve to death.

Jasmine and Mulan cannot be couples due to the historical context, since Arabia and China were enemies and they will most likely be executed.

Tiana would not be able to pay for her studies because she comes from a low-income family and because of her skin color, it is unlikely that she will be given a scholarship due to Racism.

And Bella is so polite.

But Canon, they are strong

Rapunzel was able to face her "mother" after so many years of abuse.

Mulan demonstrated honor and bravery

Jazmine faced an evil wizard.

Tiana owns the most popular restaurant in New Orleans starting from scratch.

Bella was firm that she would never fall in love with Gaston.

A female character can be empowered without losing her femininity
