Part of me believes that blizzard initially intended The Jailer to be more of an insidious/satanic character, imprisoned eons ago, but using his intellect and cunning to turn his prison into his ultimate weapon, and in the process manipulating the big picture from behind the scenes. But then somebody realized that this would overshadow the character arc of waifu Sylvanas, so Zoval was turned into the dark lord Tittynipples we have to today.

I think if they had gone the Ultron route with the husk jailor vs the Thanos route, we could have gotten a "there are no strings on me... as I am the am the one true puppeteer." story that would have landed better in my opinion. While not great, A+ writing, having more of a creepy controlling vibe off of this 'withered husk' vs the Chad Handsome Squidward Nips guy we got would have made me more engaged with where they took the story. Love what you pieced together here! Definitely an interesting point of view you've brought in here. WoW does need a villain that isn't entirely brawn. I feel like they attempted the brains aspect of villainy but couldn't fully separate themselves from the idea of tough guy muscle bro villain.

Creepy Jailer would have been a lot more compelling. We've become so desensitized to WoW's villain archetype that it needs to be changed-up a bit, as well as backed by solid writing and motivation.

I'm calling it. It was the primus all along. He was the real jailer, we helped him escape, zoval is a robot that he controls, he then faked his death and will come at the very end of the xpack to plot twist us.

Zovaal's NEW defeat animation leaves him in that exact pose as the "prototype" model.

The witch is such a great movie. The Va for the devil fits it beautifully. You can tell they’re evil. But their voice brings you in. Wanting you to listen to what they say.

anyone remembers the jailer’s design back in one of the shadowlanda trailers? u just saw the eyes glow and the outline and imo it showed that old man with long hair long beard zovaal. idk why they changed it that concept art looks badass
