When you ride a bike, you ARE going to get flat tires. Living in Arizona, the goathead capital of the world, I get a LOT of flats. Fat tires are several times easier to puncture. I saw a video where a guy literally took a wooden toothpick between 2 fingers and punctured a fat tire and tube. That is obviously not going to work for me. Not only are thinner tires much harder to puncture, but if they are regular bicycle tires, you can get extra thick 4mm puncture resistant tubes for them. 4MM is 4 times the thickness of a regular tube. You can put sealer in them, and that extra thickness gives them something to seal against. Unfortunately, finding an ebike with normal size bicycle tires is virtually impossible.

Not to mention the fact that if you are a bus commuter, you wont be getting a fat tire bike on the front travel rack for cyclists.
