On Monday, March 5, 2012, another Disney legend, Robert B. Sherman, passed away. Robert, along with his brother, Richard M. Sherman, composed the songs for such classic films as "Mary Poppins", "The Jungle Book", "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", "The Happiest Millionaire", "The Parent Trap", and the original "Winnie the Pooh" featurettes. In fact, they wrote Walt Disney's #1 all-time favorite song- "Feed the Birds/Tuppence a Bag". They have each recieved 2 Academy Awards for their work on "Mary Poppins" (Best Original Song- "Chim-Chim-Cher-ee" and Best Original Score). Robert will always be missed by Disney fans and music-lovers all over the world...

😰Oh what a very beautiful, special & magical tribute to Robert B. Sherman. Love all the characters you chose. Oh I can't believe it's been 9 years since we've lost poor Robert. I LOVE & grew up with his songs he wrote with his dear brother Richard. They were a magnificent & magical team. We'd be worse off without them. Walt Disney himself would be worse off without them & ofcourse we'd be worse off without Disney himself. Such beautiful, magical, special & unique songs. Nobody could ever write those songs like The Sherman Bros. Their songs I listened to totally inspired me as a child. One of the reasons why I became a Singer-Musician.
Wish I could've gotten a chance to meet Robert Sherman & tell him how much I loved his music. & thank him for inspiring me.

Please keep this video on YouTube forever & don't remove it at all. It's one of my alltime favorite videos.

I miss & love you Robert.

Ever since this piece of music has the tune to 'Feed the Birds (Tuppence a Bag)', It makes me cry around 1:55.

If you listen to or, better yet, read his lyrics, you can know who my Dad was and see into his soul. He was a truly beautiful spirit -- and that continues on in his songs, his movies, his plays and television programs -- and he's there each time another child in this world enjoys, learns and sings his simple, singable and sincere tunes.

Aww, you had to play "Feed the Birds"! The moment I recognized that song in the middle of all those crying scenes, I just LOST it! Richard and Robert were the best songwriting duo that Disney had ever seen!
