Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) Preview

PhoneArena reviews the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1). The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) was announced without much fanfare at the MWC expo last month, and we even had a jolly hands-on time with it, as well as with its smaller sibling, the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0). It is coming as a slightly downgraded 10-incher from Samsung, for the sake of affordability, and we have a preview unit to check out in the office...

I've been an iPad user since Apple released the first iPad, and as much as I love the device I am seriously considering buying an Android based tablet, purely in the interest of knowledge so that I can understand the Android OS better and therefore write better articles on my web site Techmedia Fusion. My only concern is the vast array of Android flavours and devices on the market with the OS, which is the best to get? Excellent video mate.

@holin59 I didn't mean they copied the iPad they released the same hardware with just a software update and called the Galaxy Tab 10.1 2.

I like the Galaxy Tab because you can call and text on it as well, also you can add more storage with a MicroSD card

If I would like to buy an android tablet, which one is top of the line, spec-wise? Best camera, best processor etc etc..? Is this it, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2?

Note, I already have an iPad, its great in many ways but it does have its obvious limitations.

@PhoneArena I'm from Tobago, an island in the Caribbean, u said the tab can support sim cards so can it support a sim card from my country or is it just for the US?

I have a question? Can you use this tablet to watch regular DVD movies? As in, can you possibly hook it up to your pc, maybe through HDMI/DVI to watch a DVD that is playing on your PC?

I have a 7" tablet and a Portable DVD and am thinking of getting one tablet to replace both, if watching DVD's on it is possible.

What's with the horrible border on the sides of the Tab 2 showing up at the front of the tablet? The first version didn't have those and it looked much sleeker.

tablets can become slow and laggy if there isn't much memory left in the tablet. increasing memory or deleting some stuff from memory might help to stop lagging

Well, I think that I did a good choice buying the Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus P6200 because It's better, faster and cheaper than Galaxy Tab 2.

Specs are more or less the same as the first model. I much prefer the first one, the design is much more simple, sleek and stylish.

you can split the screen and use 2 apps at the same time!
no other divice has that :)
just the best tablet in my opinion

Most likely the 3G version, since those are the ones with a sim card slot for a 3G SIM
