In this video i explain what are the key factors required to do synchronising and how we do it and we adjust the frequency, a very step by step process which will clear all your doubts.The books used by me are(affiliate links)

start a generator
do checks and set the knob to remote
after u reach ecr switch to mannual
turn the synchronising knob to the incoming Generator
check voltage and frequency
adjust the governor knob
at 11 clock position close the breaker
adjust the load.
