Props for actually doing some real data transfer tests. None of the other reviews did, rendering them pretty much useless.

Your test is not good. That is not 4k media streaming. The NAS is not streaming that video, it only shares it to the pc, like any other file, and the pc is playing it. Your Macbook is doing all the hard work.

A question (I'm new to Nas systems) :
I thought it automatically copies one HDD to the other hdd. So if one dies u still have the data... Can you turn this off?

Hi I have a question about the NAS, will the back usb3 work as extra drives if I connect an external HDD. Thanks

Great review! My one question is regarding the memory. It comes with 512MB. Is this as high as it will go for memory? Will this be sufficient if I am going to run my Plex Server on it for home streaming? Only one person streaming at once. Thanks!

Hey really enjoyed the video. What would you would recommend as the next level up from the DS220J? Thanks

Great review! I wouldn't view "Required Tools" as a Con. :) I currently use two external enclosures as backup drives, one connected via eSATA, the other via USB. Windows sees them as 'local' drives and Retrospect backs up to them automatically via scripts. Would I be able to a achieve the same with the DS220j, I'm not interested in using the unit's software?

Thanks for the great review, "Deal Unboxing"! Would you recommend us to use SSD, instead of HDD, for better performance?
