All I know is that when I think of Joy Division and New Order, it is the bass lines that stick in my mind.

I have to say this is probably the most even tempered, calm and all around reasonable sounding interviews I've ever heard from a musician discussing a contentious band breakup.

I think Sumner, Gilbert, Morrison & Hooky are all legends. I don't blame either Peter or Bernard for the break up, things happen in life, people argue. I still appreciate them both & always will.

Hooky deserves more royalties, he was a keystone of the band and essential to their success.

The bass lines of New Order are the stuff of legend. I think all 4 members were fantastically talented just sad that it ended up this way.

Peter Hook is the person who inspired me to play bass. Thank you Peter.

I'm 50 and have been a New Order/Joy Division fan since the age of 15 (1987). I saw New Order in 1989, and both bands are such a HUGE part of my upbringing and adult life. I was heartbroken about New Order. SUCH a sad ending. :(

" it's imperative that people don't get comfortable when making music." Words to live by.

Mr. Hook, thank you for helping me love the bass guitar and know more about writing songs.

I go see Peter Hook and The Light every time they come here. Excellent show every time! As long as he’s being compensated for his stake in the songs/publishing and in the name I wouldn’t care what the others did. No disrespect to the others, still love NO, but Hooky’s my fav bassist, his shows are great and he’s doing just fine.

"I really do wish with all my heart, that we could stop, and respect each other" Peter Hook (7:12) ... Agree

This series of interviews with Peter Hook has been utterly fantastic.

As heart-breaking as being locked out of Costco? I didn't realise Peter Hook was a poet.

No matter how you spin it. Hooky misses New Order...

Peter Hook sounds very genuine, doesn’t hold back and I feel like he’s the one telling the truth. I tend to go on his side. New Order without Peter Hook is like The Smiths without Johnny Marr.

What a shame that a band that has stayed with me from childhood through to adulthood and has been a massive influence on my musical tastes has ended up falling out. Life is too short to all fall out, especially when you've been through the experiences these guys have been through. I really hope they all sort it out before it's too late.

If either one passes, it'll be their greatest regret. They need to patch thing up.. have an honest talk.. or a massive brawl or something. Such a shame really after all those years.
Really wish they be back as friends ( and as a complete group ) at some point or another.

If it doesn't have Hooky's trademark bass sound, then it's not New Order. A great pity, but it had to end somewhere. As ABBA once sang, "Thank you for the music..." Fucking good times. Low-life was their best album, IMO. :(

I've seen Hooky & The Light twice and they really give a fantastic performance. I'll always see PH &the light as long as they tour.
