As far as the last item mentioned in this listing (right vs. left) goes, I know for some people it is due to how they are taught to use one hand over the other. I remember my Dad telling me about how his mother would smack his hand if he favored the left hand when doing something like eating. There are other sociological reasons why people in certain parts of the world where it is considered insulting to hand something to another person from the left hand and continues to be that way in today's world and the left hand is relegated to performing some very personal, intimate hygiene.
