'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' follows a group of British retirees who decide to "outsource" their retirement to less expensive and seemingly exotic India. Enticed by advertisements for the newly restored Marigold Hotel and bolstered with visions of a life of leisure, they arrive to find the palace a shell of its former self. Though the new environment is less luxurious than imagined, they are forever transformed by their shared experiences, discovering that life and love can begin again when you let go of the past. As someone who's gotten into Indian films, it's nice seeing more from an outsider's perspective. I hope to someday go to India, to New Delhi and Mumbai, and places where they've filmed. Can't wait to see this movie.

It is a very good movie. As always, I love Judi Dench. All of the characters actually play their parts very well and the story itself might seem cliche at times but in the end, it is heartwarming and gives hope through the benefits of what life has yet to offer when we least expect it to.

I just saw it and really really enjoyed it. Well paced, beautifully shot, fine performances by all, and a very interesting combination of stories, ( some are real eye openers !!) all set against the rich and colorful backdrop of India.
