Strong men admit when they are at fault.

This is the key factor. It's not a redemption arc. It's an atonement arc.

He’s a man that knows his family would probably be better without him, and realized to make it right he had to back off and only step in when THEY want him to.

And the show adds some realism because they admit that there's no "fixing" this family, but at the very least they can try to move forward

Horikoshi has my respect for making Endeavor try to atone for his mistakes instead of saying he's sorry and then dying in some noble sacrifice.

He admits to his faults and acknowledges that he isn’t perfect and that he will never live down what he has done to his family, but is still doing everything he can to make things just a little bit better

Even though he is a horrible person for what he's done, he's trying his damn best to be better. And I like that detail that his family's not just sweeping it under the rug. A lot of shows will have it be where the guy just has a simple apology and they forgive him, so I really like this detail. He completely deserves this redemption ark

Endeavour was a horrible father and husband, just overall trash to his family. But he managed to acknowledge his errors and grew as a person to help his family out when they needed it. He didn't deserve it at the start but he sure did at the end!

"Keeping up with the Todorokis" is the main reason I still read HeroAca tbh

People are not perfect. No one DESERVES a redemption arc, unless they want one.

Endeavor definitely deserves redemption. He did what so many characters (and people) did not. Take all of his past actions across the chin got up and move forward like a man. He doesn’t even *want* to be forgiven and knows that that’s impossible and accepts it he wants to do right by them now. If you want to talk about unnecessary hate this man gets unnecessary hate

The very first time the name "Endeavor" began to mean something

The point where I was willing to give him a shot was when we saw how scared he was of losing his family, but gave them a place separate from him because them being away from him was what they wanted and needed.

His nightmare made real to help them.

What i loved about both of the just watch me scenes is that they’re so perfectly written.
They both had similar contexts:
Heroes where getting bodied, Endeavor being the n.1 takes all one him. However:
In the first one he says “just watch me” as in “watch me become like All might and protect you” still having some cockiness
In the second one, during what i called the SNK arc, he says “just watch me” as in “do not hate the heroes trying to protect you, direct your hate towards me”. He fully humbled himself and that, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call Character development.

I believe people tend to have two problems: we tend to not take accountability and we tend to not allow people atone. I believe number 1 leads to number 2. When we see so often people being unaccountable we find it hard to believe when someone comes about actually taking accountability and atonement, so we shun the person.

It’s actually kinda crazy. People are more likely to accept someone after a lack of atonement as long as we just move pass it. But someone who shows a desire for atonement and forgiveness so many despise. Like so many who refuse to acknowledge someone who went to prison and worked to reform themselves but will acknowledge someone who beat the rap even though we all know they were in the wrong.

Bro really said “let me cook”

But in all seriousness I’m glad his going through this redemption arc and making up for what he did to his family.

Whether he deserves it or not you can't tell me he ain't at least trying to be better. That's why I loved seeing him try to fix the things around him.

This can happen in real life too, Family members can forgive abusive family members if they truly Prove themselfs again, it could takenyears to regain that trust but it can happen.

He did what most real fathers wouldn't do. Own up to his mistakes and try to correct them without expecting to be forgiven. Man bought a whole new place for his kids to live together so they don't have to be around him. He deserves this atonement 100%.

Endeavor seems to be a person who let his ambition and limits blind him. He is still a hero and has saved people. He is willing to be accountable for his past and that is worth atonement. Bakugo encouraged Deku to kill himself, bullied, and aligned more to villainy in terms of personality, but he gets to be better.

Look at other Franchises. Harley Quinn chose life with Joker, participated in the murder and been a willing accomplice. Now she is allowed to do justice stuff.
