As a wrestler, this is something we never do. We never post our lead hand and leave our lead leg exposed. This is a simple post elbow to High C to single to take the back. A wrestler would probably clear the tie and close distance.
I do like the move you are showing.

That's why a good judo base is necessary. It goes well with jujitsu

Bro I love your content but I really have to ask on this one. Why are you teaching collering front hand? Lead leg now exposed for snatch single, your elbow can be grabbed to pull frame for high-c duck/throw-by.

Love this guy but jist saying, i wrestled for about 13 years, and im still a white belt in bjj. I roll with the coaches who are black belts a lot, and they try this. They have never once gotten me with this.

Now, I have gotten taken down with single legs, and trips. I can usually catch a guillotine from a double leg though, head inside, or a head outside, I can crossface them to a back take. But it's allll about the setups. If you send a move one a wrestler with no setup, the counter just happens like a force of habit reaction. Like a boxer who blocks a punch without thinking about it. You are coming in slow motion, and either I can stop it or not. But no matter what, I see it coming. The set up determines whether I can stop it or not.

Was I the only one that thought he was going to power bomb him?

this seems like a lot of work

i've found that some of the basic judo throws work very well against jiu jitsu opponents. like, i don't think i've ever had anybody defend harai goshi against me. it's sort of my go-to. works very well, i get top position from it very frequently.

I like it. Ricardo Almeida teaches something with a similar setup, but the takedown is a sacrifice back throw simialr to an Tomoe-nage, but you have to follow their momentum to continue to roll back over top of them, then you can finish with the arm in guillotine from mount or whatever other fun stuff come to mind.

Was surprised when an ibjjf ref wouldn't score this as a takedown. He called it a failed guillotine attempt and not a takedown. :(

Nice technique but not too easy to apply in practice. A big judoka once hit this on me. He jumped into a Peruvian necktie from there. I got both my arms stuck so I couldn't tap, and he didn't notice my foot tap. I was choked so bad that I couldn't say tap or stop. Thought he would snap my head off. Trainer noticed the situation and jumped on him to get him off. Pretty scary.

Real wrestlers know how to do takedowns with an inside or outside tie up.
