Simple life Manhattan: a 90-square-foot microstudio

By choosing a studio that measures just 12 feet by 7 feet, Felice Cohen can afford to live in Manhattan's Upper West Side where apartments rent for an average of $3,600 per month.

She pays just over $700 for her 90-square-foot micro-studio. After a bit of adjustment, she now loves living smaller, simpler, and cozier.

"8 or 9 people hanging out"?! Hanging out where, hanging out the window?

This reminds me of Michael Scott talking about his plasma screen tv. "Sometimes I'll just stand in front of it and watch tv for hours"

This must’ve been horrible to live here during quarantine.

TBH if there was more head space in the loft, I don't think I'd mind living in such a tiny place. But not being able to sit up in bed... yikes.

Wow landlords did a really good job of convincing hipsters that living in a closet is cool

Literally everything she is saying, I can see Michael Scott saying. Just imagine it.

I don't understand people's obsession with NYC. My family refuses to move anywhere else. I'm never moving back. I appreciate my inexpensive home and all the land and space I have lol

Thoughts and prayers to the miserable soul who currently lives in that apartment after 9 months of quarantine.

I've seen homeless people in SF with tents bigger than this

Wow I'm glad I moved out of NYC. Full of people who've convinced themselves that paying to live in a coffin is perfectly reasonable because they're near a library.

Joke's on her, the landlord just rented out the broom closet for an extra $700 a month.

This cured me of my youthful desire of living in the city

Honestly man, if she explicitly says it's cozy and enjoyable and if she's happy then who are we to put her down in her effort to live more minimally?

These need to stop being made before developers get the idea that these are acceptable living standards.

It’s actually not that bad. Her shelving is just so ugly. If you were a minimalist who is never home, this would be perfect.
