Hey!

I have been watching your videos wich are very helpfull!!

I have a question, why cant I just take the given equation x^2 + y^2 - 4z^2 = 0 and replace x, y and z with the spherical formulas for rho, theta and phi, like this:

(rho*sin(phi)*cos(theta))^2 + (rho*sin(phi)*sin(theta))^2 - 4(rho*cos(phi))^2 = 0

And after that we can make the new equation easier by using the trig identity? Will that work?

I'm doing a questions x^2+y^2=z^2 and I can't find out if the answer is rho(cos2phi) or rho^2(cos2phi)

spencers.

we have to add things all by ourself thats hard thing :)

i solve this without adding z*2 on both side
