Uitvoering van Simeon ten Holts Canto Ostinato door vier pianisten: Elizabeth Bergmann, Marcel Bergmann, Sandra van Veen en Jeroen van Veen.

Tijdens het concert worden luchtfoto's van de Nederlandse fotograaf Karel Tomeï geprojecteerd.

I have been listening to this (or some other version of Canto Ostinato) at least once a week for the past 2 years. Its hard to describe what this piece now means to me, but it really just gives me hope and comfort in times of despair and makes me even happier in times of joy. What I really love about this piece are its moments of absolute sensitivity, when the piece flows as if nature itself was breathing.

Wij hebben op school tijdens drama hier een half uur naar geluisterd, liggend op de grond om aan alles en niets te denken. Ik zal heel eerlijk zijn, ik ben geen grote fan van klassieke muziek, maar die 30 minuten waren de mooiste 30 minuten uit mijn leven tot nu toe.

For me, the coughing adds a lot to this work. It is a strong reminder that this was performed at a moment in time: that exact moment will never return. In other words, the piece comes alive in a certain time and place, with all its 'imperfections'. Just think of the people who will hear this in 3021... they will have a priceless recording of people coughing from 2011!

Magnifique interprétation des quatre pianistes, de cette œuvre de SIMEON TEN HOLT, où la pièce a été terminée en 1976 et interprétée en public pour la première fois le 25 avril à Bergen sur trois pianos et un orgue électrique. Merci pour ce ce grand moment de musique Classique, que j’ai énormément aimé bravo.

Heerlijk. Als de weilanden ontleent ook dit stuk zijn schoonheid aan zijn eenvoud en hypnotiserende herhaling. Een uitgestrekt veld van kalmerende klanken.
