I bought a Fender sixty six (natural finish) back in January from a guitar store in Keene NH as a brand new instrument. I do agree that were was some work needed to be done to it. For example at first I really didn't like the tone I was getting from the Humbucker... It sounded a little weak to me. Doing a bit of research I found that you can adjust the tone with the screws on the face of the pickup. I raised them about 1.5mm and it made it much hotter sounding. Out of the box the screws were level to the pickup making it further from the string, thus making it sound more bassy like a single coil. I guess its all about preference I guess. After the adjustment there are no complaints from me. Yes the fret ends are rough... but not horrible like the squire I owned as a kid. I think the reason they let the frets stick out slightly is because it will prevent fret sprout when the wood expands and such. I have a 92 and 99 MIM strat and over a few years the frets round themselves out. as of now you couldn't tell the difference between my MIMs and a MIA custom shop

I’ve got a Sunburst Sixty-Six, put a Seymour Duncan in the bridge and she plays like a dream! Gotta get it reintonated though, she doesn’t really wanna ring out any notes above the 12th frets. Came like that when I got her. Love the video!

I played two or three players today. Found them uninspiring and with loose pots. For some reason, the strings felt loose. I’m pretty sure they were all tuned to E. Strats. I have a strat with 9s. Those felt like 8s which I know is impossible. The Ibanez and Sterlings in the same price range were way cooler to me.

I've literally ordered three of these guitars and each one had worse fret ends than the last. I don't know what's up with these. I've had Fenders all up and down the lineup from Squier to vintage and these were honestly the worst frets I've ever seen on a new guitar. Just sloppy work. It's such a gorgeous body, I'm planning to just replace the neck on mine with something nicer.

another thing i fixed in mine was it came with only 3 tremolo springs in the back. I didn't like this because using the whammy bar felt too loose and responsive. I added a fourth spring and totally improved the tremolo quality. I configured the springs like /||| it came like this.... /|\
