This is the perfect end to Schultz. He got the story he wanted. He died as the tragic hero with his protogé mourning and taking his mantle. He truly got the romantic ending he always dreamed of.

Christopher Waltz dies when he is the good guy but stays alive when he is the villain.

I always loved the close-up shot that shows Django's sadness and loss without the need for tears. Truly Django.

I could of sworn his lips were trembling like he was gonna cry but held it in before he told him until I see you again. Sad asf

I can't stop thinking of this part sometimes, just like when Dr. Schultz cannot stop thinking about the black man being torn apart by hounds.

I bet Django didnt think it was selfish, in fact despite the insane hardships and near death he experienced as a result of shchultz killing candy, i bet he would have done the same thing. when django sees his dead body and bids him goodbye in german, there is def genuine friendship and gratitude there.

It was bitter sweet knowing that Dr. Schultz sacrifice himself and shot Calvin himself, because I had a feeling he knew that Both him and Django didn’t think that they were going to get out of Candyland alive, so like a good True friend, he lays down his life before anyone else! He went out like a boss and a hero, 🇩🇪Aveda Zane and R.I.P Dr. Schultz!

I cried my shirt off at this scene.
RIP Dr. King Schultz!
Also, nice allegory Tarantino chose for Christoph Waltz character, with Schultz being a common german name(direct reference to Waltz nationality) and King being a reference to Dr. Martin Luther King, the man who ended the segregation in modern US.

The only white man django liked and ever respected. I heard after he blew up candy land he went and gave king a proper burial. I like that.

Auf wiedersehen, mein freund, mein bruder, mein vater.

When he says “Auf Wiedersehen“ I get chills, in this context the “see you later” can also be understood like “see you in the afterlife” 😢.

Touching how we should behave with one another

I love how Django opens the certificate in Schultz’ pocket. Showing how Schultz went out of his way to help save Django & Broomhilda.

Id like to believe Django came back and gave him a proper burial, after he dealt with the rest of the Candyland😔

Django said “Auf Wiedersehen” which means “good bye / until we meet again”

I like to imagine that Dr. Schultz put Brumhilde's freedom papers in his back pocket intentionally. He knew he was going to walk face first into his death, and just like Django put himself between her and Mr. Pooch's shotgun, Schultz put himself between that gun and her freedom.

He always had the emancipation note! He never planned on keeping Django. A true gentleman.
