I made a clock with this MAX7219 Dot Matrix 4-in-1 Display module and
I slightly modified your wonderful Arduino real time clock with DS3231 code.
It is good to use a light filter over the display, for example a transparent film or red acrylic sheet. The display is then clearer, LEDs are easier to read.
