Can we stop pretending that heath Ledger was a good joker? Because he wasn't a good joker what we saw on screen was one man descending into insanity and while that is what the joker should be, it is not something we should be fetishizing (I just found out I can't say that word out loud News for me news for you) yes, it was very thematic for the man playing joker to lose his marbles but that doesn't make him a good joker the scene where he blows up the hospital and the detonator doesn't work. That should have been scripted but it wasn't. It was an accident. It was a failure on the power technics part and the actor reacted to it the way anyone would react to it. Pressing the button turning around looking vaguely confused why there wasn't a loud bang. But what we see on screen isn't good acting. It's accurate. Documentation of one man struggle against mental illness. It's not a good movie for several reasons if he actually acted in it and that was his acting. I'd say yeah, that's a good joker it's not the greatest joker but that is a good joker but I can't look at that movie and see a man playing the joker. It's just a really sad documentary about one man losing his mind
