African diplomatic delegations arrived in Saint Petersburg on Wednesday to take part in the second Russia-Africa Summit and economic forum.
Earlier, Russia said 49 African leaders would attend the event but only 17 heads of state are currently in the country. In response, Moscow said the West is trying to sabotage the event by dissuading leaders from coming.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏At last the summit has arrived. It felt like forever waiting for it. So good to see our leaders meeting true friends who respect us and who they want to meet, not those former colonial powers and their friends who are so disrespectful and who they are forced to meet through threats, blackmail and what is effectively acts of extortion. Peace and love

ONE AFRICA must be wise enough to stand on its own as independent continent free from the stain of millennia long loggerhead without necessarily dragging the nation into any of the West and Russia conflicts. Again, our disunity and hasty action will be our own undoing. We have issues at hand on our own continent before rolling in the muds of millennia long West and Russia conflict. Remember the old wisdom, "Think Before You Act!" Economic ties and resource share related discussions with both continents is one thing, but even so, this is not the right time while the West and Russia are at critical conflict. Importantly, talk on military alliance is Foolish endeavor. Do not drag the nation into global conflict either to revenge the west or for food. The long term cost is too much for our continent. We have suffered enough, and it is time we think about our Unity and self-reliance and avoid any foreign aid. What a shame that the Russia and Ukraine under such war and economy devastation are still better than us and still export food to Africa. Shame on Africa leaders who cannot see the implications!
