I'd like to pretend that attempting independence from the US dollar is foolish and unnecessary -- but my rule is that if I pretend anything, I must also make a joke of it.
The problem is, I cannot make a joke as laughable as wanting to remain as a sovereign state while still voluntarily chaining yourself to the US Dollar.
Even many of the other US citizens I know would love to be independent of the US dollar. So I have nothing bad to say about BRICS. In fact, I wish them well.

Wouldn’t it be a huge step forward if they joined for better education, equal opportunities, better health care, increased and better distribution of food supplies, improved infrastructure, respect of religious choice, less greed and less money spent on weapons and war.
