The Three-way shuffle was originally designed for parents to help their children listen for understanding and to minimise the defensive listening often present when differences arise. It became an intrinsic part of the NetCare Restorative Parenting courses with parents noticing that conflict between siblings reduced significantly but just as importantly the parents became a conduit for facilitated conversations rather than a rescuer.

It is now used as a tool for professionals to help two parties; Adult/Adult, Adult/Child and Child/Child have a difficult conversation when listening has ceased.

This simple process uses 3 questions asked repeatedly until the other person has heard the speaker with clarity.
