Chinese school principal teaches students shuffle dance during break

In Xi Guan Primary School in China’s Shanxi province, students can shuffle dance with their principal during break time. The principal, Zhang Pengfei, learned the shuffle dance himself and taught his students. Knowing that students tend to stay in front of computers and phones, he hoped every student would exercise more with the dance.

This reminds me of my elementary school days in the Philippines. We dance to pop songs everyday after the flag ceremony as a form of exercise. It’s interesting how we Asian countries have so much similarities.

I first saw this type of exercise dance in 2012 and it's gone popular in many small towns across the country. It has the potential to be modernized.
