I like seeing you find ways to bring FSD content without worrying about having the latest V13 version. Thanks for the testing in an active snowy environment. If you test it in a case where it's sunny out but below 0 with snowy and icy roads it really struggles. Then it doesn't detect bad weather and it'll try to accelerate way to quickly on ice and slide around and fail with a "system error".

Keep up the great work. You have a great angle and I sure as heck can't give anyone a snow video like you can!

I thought at first his t-shirt said FSD SURVIVOR
thanks for testing, Mr. Survivor :D

Wow, FSD has so much more to learn! In a couple of years it will be a matter of seconds. "Hey 'name of car' drive in the tracks you see in front of you..."

28:00 Completely agree with you that FSD needs automated self-cleaning cameras just like other Autonomous vehicles. For example Waymo has cleaning system features such as: Water squirters/Mechanical washer: Keeps camera lenses clean from dirt and debris: Wipers: to clean away mess after water spray. Air Nozzles: Part of the cleaning tools used to get rid of dust and grime.

In Québec for years now Winter tires is the law from 1st Dec to mid March. Night and day difference from the best all season. I tried FSD in our snowy conditions on winter tires and it still sucked, once the roads clears 3 - 4 days after a storm it is again usable thanks for the video!

This is definitely the kind of weather I’m looking to see how they solve for FSD still a ways to go

Yes, the external camera lens covers should have integrated heating elements (just like the side view mirrors) sufficient to vaporize water.

I'm happy to declare that the annoying poor weather/camera occluded warnings are no more! They've been downgraded to yellow alerts from red, and no longer produce a warning sound. This is in the holiday update on HW3. Still 12.5.4.2 sadly but makes for a much more pleasant drive in incliment weather conditions and at night in pitch dark locations

Avid fan of Tesla. I’ll wait for Tesla to improve FSD before I hand over control in bad conditions. Thanks for the content…don’t expect too much snow here in central Texas.

We agree completely regarding what will be needed for the cameras to qualify as ready for full autonomy.

No, no it's not. FSD doesn't decelerate gently when coming up on stops or stopped cars. Gonna rear end!

I like when FSD sees the oncoming car at 20:50, it starts to regain the confidence, which side of the road is the correct one.

Can you imagine I just bought my tesla today and tried out FSD I would have no idea what was going on and probably would never use it again.

I can assure you without watching this video it’s not even close to ready.

Wow that’s great seeing FSD struggling with everyday task it’s just insane. This prove that Tesla still has a lot of room for improvement until the world wide roll out 👍👍👍

Your presentation skills, video and audio quality are right up there with the best of them. I suspect eventually Tesla will come up with a "winter" mode but, as you say, all the effort right now is getting it to work in average every day conditions. They will probably up the hardware game for keeping cameras clean etc when they get to the point of the software being able to handle all weather conditions. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for doing this video. I've been wondering how FSD performs in snow/bad weather.

Dude I've noticed the window thing on my 2024 model y perf a few weeks ago when it started being so damn cold here in EU.. Once you engage the vehicle into drive, they'll seal all the way up. Such a nice detail, seems like the windows were getting stuck on older teslas when they froze over.
