Special shout out to all of my patrons who make these videos possible.

"Man of Constant Sorrow" was most recently made famous by the film "O, Brother Where Art Thou?" as performed by The Soggy Bottom Boys, but it's been around for well over a century. The song has been covered by Bob Dylan, The Stanley Brothers, Joan Baez (who is still touring BTW) and Home Free. As great as the song is, I always felt like it needed a bridge, so I wrote one. I fully expect some haterade in the comments section for that, but I love you all anyway.

"Take me to the water
let me wash my sin away
I’ve been traveling down this road
And how my soul has gone astray
I can feel it like a bullet
No matter where I tread
All my days I have been runnin’
From these ghosts within my head"

Pretty sure we need more Geoff, Jeff, Jeoph, Goff, AND Daryl in our lives. Y'all sound perfect together. 😉😂

I feel bad for people who don’t know this man exists and the treasures he shares with us

Trains are big and strong, and you are soft and squishy. *sage nod* Cannot be overstated the importance of this advice!

I tell the neighbor kids all the time that I like them better round and running around than flat and dead. They insist upon running around my car AFTER I start moving, even after I ask how many are outside today, count them, and tell them all to be STILL!

Very relieved to learn that there were no trains possible! As soon as I saw him sitting on the rail I yelled "get off those tracks!" 😂 what a fun, upbeat arrangement!

Geoff in rags look better than me with bling on. Right now a single strand of his hair has more secrets than my entire life.

My father sang this to us when we were kids and several other songs you have covered. I lost him to cancer in 2018. But when I miss him, I listen to you sing now. I'm not sure if I can express what a blessing it is. The music helps me to deal with the grief. I can think of him and smile again now. Thank you.

Can we get Geoff to do all PSAs from now on? "Trains are big and strong, and you are soft and squishy." pretty much sold me on never walking on train tracks (not that I planned on it anyway, but the point still stands).

Spreading the love for Geoff's (and VoicePlay's) music. I was collecting a grocery pickup last week while Geoff's "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold" was playing over my car stereo. The young man loading my groceries commented about how great the song sounded, so I told him about Geoff's and VoicePlay's YT channels. He commented that he was a musician who did some arranging and recording himself. When I collected groceries this morning, the same guy was loading a pickup order into the vehicle parked next to mine. When he finished, he came over to thank me and said that I had really started something for him. He's plunged headfirst down my favorite rabbit hole. He thanked me earnestly for last week's info and commented that Geoff's "Man of Constant Sorrow" is his favorite version of this song. However, he hadn't noticed Geoff's added bridge....said he'd have to go back to re-listen.

Hey Geoff, I noticed all your brothers have different shirts but all have the same jewelry - must be a family tradition ❤

The other day I heard “Lovin, Touching, Squeezing “ by Journey and thought ‘What if Geoff took that tune down into the basement and tinkered with it. Pretty sure the ladies would enjoy it!

I work at a train depot. the images of geoff sitting on the tracks with a guitar, plus case, hat and flowers struck such deep fear and dread into me.

the note at the end of the video of the tracks no longer being in use gave me a lot of relief

I needed this today. My cat crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her favorite human of all time (my late husband) two days ago, so this has been a lousy week. When my husband was alive, this song always came up on my ipod when we were going anywhere in the car. Geoff, you have brought me some comfort today. Thank you.
