This driver is complaining about the one pedal brakes being too strong when he is the one that causes it. When you step on the brakes, you step on it gradually instead of all the way down which becomes emergency brake. Similarly, when using one pedal driving, you are suppose to release the pedal gradually and not remove your foot from the pedal totally. This will certainly cause uncomfortable breaking effect.

I love a strong Regen on the 1 pedal drive. The XC40 pedal feels like the Tesla which is great. One just needs to 'learn' how to modulate the right foot when lifting off. The Hyundai's iPedal mode is ok, but a bit weak. I have to sometimes add on by also pressing the brake pedal. The Smart #1 pedal feels really weird in 1-pedal mode. Like a laggy, rubber band effect.

U will love pedal drive once you get use to it. One of the best thing about EV cars. Between XC 40 vs Tesla Y, I prefer XC40 anytime because of comfort and built quality. Driving a Tesla Y makes u feel like driving a massive truck that looks like a bee has stung a Model 3. However I have to admit that Tesla has better power management (doesn’t drain the battery down as fast as the Volvo).
