I’ll say this only once: never go to a main dealership, ever. I’ve many examples but my worst was only last year when I wanted an early oil change on a brand new VW T-cross. I could do it myself but I wanted to make sure the warranty was intact and paid them £150!! And guess what? - they didn’t do it yet had the cheek to provide me with a vehicle health-check video. I took it back the next day and got them to change it again while I stood there. I was proved correct.

My local Ford dealer wanted between £1100 and £1300 to do the same on my Mondeo. Found a small garage with the specialist tools required. Cost £300.

My wife’s Cmax Ford quote was £1450 for cambelt and water pump. Local garage did the job for £415. Mechanic said it’s only a 3.5 hour job and parts were £100. Ford are robbers.

That's something you don't see many mechanics doing now a days is cleaning the inside of pulleys so they slip back on, excellent video and first time I've seen an engine support like that, gives you more room under the engine, I'm still using a transmission jack to hold engines but they do get in your way a bit, guess i will look into getting one like yours.

Great video. We have a mark 6 fiesta with the 1.4 engine and a 2.5 focus estate with the 1.6 engine. Great engines.
