Whatever you do, Morningstar, keep this guy on your payroll. He just sold me a switcher.

You have just taught me how to set up MIDI, which I have never understood before since MIDI began! Thank you! I can now control my Boss Nextone Special Amp from my Line 6 M13. Brilliant! 😊

It is true that a MIDI-controlled pedalboard gives you infinite possibilities, considering the number of (MIDI-enabled) pedals you can drop on to the board.

But one must also consider:

* assiging a distinct MIDI channel each pedal

* Remembering the Program Change numbers you assign to each setting within each pedal, which is no small task, especially on pedals with no display of any kind.

* And last but by no means least, the number of patch cables exponentially raises the prospect of a cable failure "somewhere" on your board, and at a gig that could be a catastrophe.

Don't get me wrong, I actually dig MIDI and if I could afford an all Strymon board, I might be tempted to build it.

I'm just pointing these things out because there are tradeoffs with everything, including this.

Quality products and quality videos. So simplified for people out there who get a little intimated by the term midi implementation in your pedalboard.

Wow, I had no idea you could do this. I'm a beatmaker, I use an MPC 2000 which is quite limited with its effects board so I was looking at using the 8 outs to route different samples through FX pedals, and now I've just been presented with a method to control these pedals using the MPC's MIDI sequencer. Brilliant brilliant brilliant!

Really great video! The MC3 is amazing! Takes a pedalboard and turns it into a multi-effects unit that can be customized to a player's favorites.
