I am always asked the same questions daily and these are the ones people ask me the most!
how long do moths live? do they bite? do they eat?
I have answered the questions by using my personal experience in raising these moths, I have raised them for a few years now and I learn something new each time
To watch us raise these moths check out my other videos, I have also raised many other moths such as the attacks atlas moth!
I have many cocoons and pupa waiting to hatch too #moths #hawkmoth #deathsheadmoth #youtubegrowth #silkmoth

I love how the moth pees all over the towel when it hatches from the pupa, as if it had been retaining that pee for too long. Must be such a relief!

I love Death Head Moths, I came across the species through a video saying "Your Month, Your Moth." and my month (August) had the Death Head Moth! I find these moths so pretty and amazing just as any other moth. I also find it adorable that they can squeak!! :3

My theorum as to why they don't eat in captivity is may be due to the absence of bee pheromones. They may be drawn to nests by bee pheromones, which may trigger their feeding response. No bees, no self feeding. Putting honey on their tongue would trigger the eating response outright.

beautiful video, I was accompanied for 4 days by a Hyles Gallii that came in one night through my window, It stayed in my hand, very friendly, it was fun to go back home and look for where it was, I miss it, what beautiful beings 💛

I made a D&D character who is a death head moth and because I found out that apparently they can secrete some sort of acid. He poisons people. His name is Vel

I’ve been thinking of raising bees, but also keeping these little fellas too, I just can’t be mad at them

Also about the moths not biting part, there’s really only one kind of moth that can technically bite, those being vampire moths

The yellow and black ones look like butter fly bees

Where did you get them? And can you get them to raise in USA? I'm already raising cecropia, polyphemus, and white lined Sphinx Hummingbird moths at the moment.
