Reassessing Jamaica’s Path to a Republic: Can we trust our Jamaican leaders?

In my previous video, “This is Why Jamaica Should Not be Independent,” I explored the concerns about Jamaica potentially losing important protections and rights if it transitions to a republic. This topic sparked a lively debate, with many of you arguing that countries like Barbados and have successfully moved on from their colonial past and are thriving. Some people said that the Jamaican symbols would not have to be changed because Barbados did not changed theirs. Some suggested that Jamaica’s issues in regards to economic instability stem from its historical ties to Britain and that we need a clean break to move forward.

THE SYMBOLS SHOULD NOT BE CHANGED, CONSTANT CHANGE LEADS TO UNSTABLE IDENTITY, JAMAICA SHOULD NOT BECOME ANOTHER HAITI BE CONSTANT CHANGES, KEEP IT STABLE.

We don't need our flag to be upside down. We are not in distress, which is why jamaica is so unique.

When Jamaica became independent in 1962 we lost the passport and the currency., Will the passport be devalued from the Commonwealth reams of Nations that are directly or Jamaica will only be on the list of the secondary list of countries because the Commonwealth of Nations have two separate stages. We must not just sing the song of the politicians but the ordinary people should research what is in this for themselves.1962 they never told the people that they were going to loose the currency and our passport that would be very strong.while our ancestors was not very literate vs today we are not fools. Those who are giving us this choice to follow them are the ruling class that have many different choices and their children.I am Not making the mistakes of the past

Pride can often lead to prejudice affecting transitioning whereby losing sight of equivalences when setting up functioning systems benefitting most if not everyone present, and to be present, calls into question motives and motivations in the process .. .

If we were still under rule the system would not have failed its people so fully. The people in power have never had our best interests in mind.

So, what is the plan and purpose of Afro-centric countries to improve the conditions of the people? How will they organise and order the people to achieve prosperity?

WHATEVER THEY COME UP WITH AS A REPUBLIC MUST BE PUT TO THE CITIZENS IN THE FORM OF A REFFERENDUM WHICH REQUIRES AN OVERALL PARTICIPATION OF ABOUT 70% OF THE WHOLE POPULATION AND ABOUT NEARLY 55% OF THE PARTICIPANT MUST RESPOND YES FOR IT TO PASS

And yet people are still celebrating Jamaican independent when we’re not independence having politician, talking about independent when they know, we are not independent and we supposed to trust these people. None of these people represent me on my family.

Please consider The demographic transition model. It shows how birth rate and death rate have influenced the total population of a place and changed over the years. shows population change. It is dynamic and is always changing – a population can change naturally due to births and deaths or artificially by migration. consider race, Jamaica is mostly black people,
Trinidad and Guyana is about 50% black and 50% indians, the behaviour of the two races are different and population are much smaller than Jamaica approximately 3 Million people
Trinidad is about 1.5 million half the population of jamaica. Guyana is less than a 1 million people, and is in a dispute with Venezuela 2024 estimated at 28, 405, 543 people over border issues.

isn't Britain itself a secular country now, didn't it transitioned from Christian to fully secular adopting dubious social terms, if when it transit to a republic it does well or not its going to be the Jamaican people and her government fault. its time to stand on your own and what? there are no fighting people left we cant fight for rights anymore, how many died to give us this rights, so now we cant organize anymore, I don't think you see the state of Jamaica now the colorism, the murder the adoption of criminal culture guard rings. police killing, missing people, sudden death, hatred. turning a republic isn't going to do anything, we need people to organize now to change and fix the system under the king now, millions of Jamaicans live outside its borders, we didn't forge a nations, Singapore forged a nation.
