Tayo, I am from Montego Bay. I'm very sorry to see that you were ripped off. Jamaica is not that expensive at all, if you are paying the real price. Did you ever consult with anyone local? Don't pay them in US dollars! Definitely get a local guide. I am so shocked to hear your meals were $30 to $40 and you spent $200 to go across the island. Your meals aren't more than maybe $7 unless you are eating in an expensive restaurant. There are many local places that are much cheaper. Also, you could have taken Knutsford Express bus across the island for $20 from Kingston to Montego Bay and it is a luxurious ride.

We went to Montego Bay for a week. We loved it so much that we went to Negril on our next vacation. I LOOOVE the food, conch, patties, fruit, Ital, coco bread, festival, sooo delicious! The best rum and HERBS! The music is incredible, people are smiling and dancing. I miss it!
