PTG 20th Anniversary Tour, 28th January 2019, Cuenca - Madrid [4K]
Показать описание
This is one of several videos covering the Portuguese Traction Groups 20th Anniversary rail tour in Spain during January 2019.
The locomotive was a former RENFE class 321, an Alco DL500S locomotive built in Spain in 1966 by Euskalduna. Although it carries the number "2148" it is really "2159" [321 059]. The locomotive and stock were provided by ALSA and the whole train normally works the "Tren De Philipe II" tourist train during the summer months.
This video covers the third and final day, 28th January, from Cuenca to Madrid Chamartin
After leaving Cuenca the train climbed to a pause Huete, scaring some deer along the way. A local TV News reporter with cameraman joined the train at Cuenca and left it at Huete, where they shot a piece to camera and recorded the departure from the platform. The climb continued for a further few kilometres until the summit.
The train stopped again, this time at Tarancón where some local people came to view it, but not in the large numbers seen on the other days. The train continued on until it was held a few km past Santa Cruz de La Zarza. While waiting for clearance to proceed a high speed Talgo passed on the adjacent AVE line. The loco can be heard in engine, horn and dynamic brake as it passes Ocaña.
The train stopped for a crew personal needs break at the well restored Aranjuez station. The condition of the signal cabin seen on departure is in stark contrast to the station.
Not many minutes later the train passed a large works and freight yard between the stations of San Cristóbal de los Ángeles and Madrid-Villaverde Bajo. Several locos and coaches can be seen in various states of distress. At Madrid-Villaverde Bajo the train passed under a long overbridge, the sound of the engine working was clear. Another large yard was passed near Vicálvaro, again with several locos on view although these were all operational locos despite the heavy grafitti. Toward the end of the yard two rather sad looking 321s were seen in the dump line along with a pair of 269 electric locos. Right at the end of the yard former RENFE Alco DL500 1610/316.010 was seen. Although heavy with grafitti the loco looked to be in better condition than the two DL500S locos we had just passed.
Finally the train arrived at Madrid Chamartin.
