Your front facing camera is probably set to auto exposure and is being influenced by the back of the laptop, which is black, causing it to overexposed in compensation, which is why Michael looks washed out. Set the camera to underexpose by a stop and see if that helps.

On today's question, the difference in the discussion between TC and Michael is interesting. If this is a free speech issue then Michael's concern, which he immediately dropped, on whether you are referring to students or faculty is key. Students come to college to learn. One of the lessons should be protection of free speech. That means faculty cannot be appear to be biased in class. Students need to learn its ok to be exposed to other points of view, not be "protected" from them. Next, try a faculty focused question. P.S. We need more civics taught in H.S.

Question on DEI I& Political Diversity misses the point! People going to college want to hear facts and make up their own mind. Went to College in the 1960's. People did not buy the College promoting either side. It was not accepted then and I am pretty it will not change now. People who want to discuss that become the educated one's. I went to college with those who hated the RVN war and those who desired it. Went through that war and made up my own mind. Conservatives and Liberals need to learn to live together. I also attended college after I attended over 65. As usual the popular idea has put their keen intellect to the problem and come up with the wrong solution.
Attended college after the war and then several times later. People have managed to create their own problem in this arena. Got over 70 years dealing with this problem.

no i'd argue the premise... diversity of opinion doesn't matter in a college setting... i'd take neil degrasse tyson over joel olsteen seven days a week... ideological balance is silly, trust kids to form their own opinions... there are plenty easily found... they have libraries too!

Michael’s evolution of ideology is a very peculiar and interesting one. Rare in that usually people are more liberal ideologically as a young person, growing more conservative as they get older. Not an opinion, that’s a well studied and informed fact.

You have to remember Micheal, that the term "diversity" is very broad and expansive. I voted no because I don't want the Neo Nazi, Proud Boys, MAGA crazies, religious fanatic ---- ideological positions represented on staff or in their teaching. You should teach about these ideologies in colleges and expose everyone to them, including extreme democrat and republican concepts, but pushing them is anti productive to an already very divided nation.
