WHAT IS DIVERSITY?
“Diversity means that everyone is unique and that we should all recognize that everyone has individual differences and needs. A diverse organization will strive to employ people from varying genders, religions, race, education, sexual orientation and other attributes.

Society is diverse and it is my strong opinion that to serve its customers well, and to provide exceptional levels of service, the organization should be diverse, too. Diversity means understanding that everyone is unique and recognizing all our individual differences.

A diverse workplace helps facilitate staff retention and it also encourages open dialogue and communication which can only be a good thing for any organization.”

Just a word of advice for everyone - even if you get the job offer please consider carefully if it is the right fit for you. You don't want to jump ship then hate your new job.
Peace.

In the US, you have two 10 or 15 min breaks and half or one hour unpaid lunch break. Many states don’t require the employer to give breaks or time off for lunch. Taking time to pray must be on your break. It’s like smoking. You don’t get more breaks than other people to smoke or pray. If you need to take care of your child, you have a job where you can take care of them from home or they go to daycare. You can’t have your personal issues affect your job duties. Maybe the UK is different?

As a regular employee looking to do a job, I fail to see why I should be confronted with these questions at interview, unless I am actually hiring people for a role in this field. it seems to me that employees are forced to adopt views that conform to an ideal liberal-left type (what the organisation calls 'its values') but, in the process, may in fact discriminate against those who don't hold to some of these same views, even if their views are they are not illegal, nor do they incite illegal behaviour.

How can I answer the question: Discuss how your personal experiences prepare you to solve problems in diverse teams, and for a diverse world.
It is a university admission interview question.

Hi Richard, I'm preparing for an interview and I think will help tremendously. It gather helped gather my own thoughts and responses on the subject. Interestingly, it help me realized that my own upbringing was aligned with DEI thinking before DEI became a key issue of social importance.

If someone in the work place is making an inappropriate or derogatory remark perhaps the correct response would be that I need to receive more diversity training so that I can accept people with diverse opinions from that of my own. Who's to say that I have the right to force my morality on someone with a different Are you starting to understand why diversity hasn't happened naturally hundreds of years ago? Birds of a feather flock together. That is plain basic human nature, we like to be around people that make us comfortable and share the same moral code of conduct. It isn't up to us to correct someone else's cultural background or upbringing.
