How to Open the DEBUG MENU in EarthBound (Tutorial)

In this video, I explain where to open the debug menu and the inputs needed to make it appear. This trick works on all versions of the game EXCEPT MOTHER 1+2 (and I recommend attempting this on a version where you can make save states). If you have any questions, let me know in the comments! I have no idea if this method could work on the 3DS XL variation of the game but I tried and it seemed i was clipping into the top of the hill but i think the sandwich ran out and i didn't have a restore point set so i just gave up on tryna do the debug menu for the 3ds version of this game

i'm on a pc port and just a question, what is the pc equivalents of R and L?

im playing in a emulator it is snes9x and it stay giving me the bicycle and just show a few random letters and nothing more

So on the switch i got the debug menu to appear but every time i close it or teleport the game always crashes by infinite text or a yellow triangle on the top left, can i continue on with the game?

Is it possible for the debug menu to pop up through chance without a 2nd player input? I'm willing to just keep attempting if it means I don't have to open my spare joy-cons yet.

have snes classic edition. finally did this in circus tent in threed. then, without me following any these instructions, it opened the debug menu. i tried to go to cave of the past, but it kept going, and jeff and paula were dead, leaving only ness standing. didnt get poo yet. but the text kept going. and when i checked one of those grey vines, it crashes into a red screen with what looked like pokemon's missingno. in the center with what sounded like a loud, cranky dialup phone.

yet another example of how things are 1000x easier when you just play on a traditional emulator, on a pc, with a keyboard.. all of these emulators on console systems and tv-oriented emulators, where you're restricted to gamepad, make everything difficult.

Alright, bit of a weird question but... I think I got a different blank text box because it never says 6D at the end when you press A, do you know if it's possible for different blank text boxes to appear?

I keep getting a yellow box with an arrow in the top left. And it just changes the music to winters

I know this is kinda old and by the time you see this (if you see this) I’ll probably already have done it, but how can you count how many frames have gone by? Is it just counting to 11 or 13, or do you need to look at the arrow. I’ll use the info for if I do it again since I know if I do it, it won’t be because I did it correctly, I just got it by luck.

Hey, question. I'm using the Nintendo switch version of EarthBound, and I'm currently at level 7. I'm at the correct spot (I believe, anyway. Same place you're at, same alignment I believe) and am holding the right bumper on the second controller and clicking the left bumper on the first controller. Thing is, it doesn't work, why is that?
