The thing that irks is me is how Nintendo games *never* go on sale. I’m the type where if I wanna play a new game but can’t justify the price I’m comfortable waiting a few years until it gets cheap, but there’s 5+ year old switch games sitting on store shelves that cost the same as they did on release

During the Wii U era, there was a promotion where Nintendo would gift a free game for every purchase of Mario Kart 8. That's the kind of thing a company does when it is desperate. Now that Nintendo is thriving, they've grown complacent.

In just a couple of hours, Nintendo killed almost all the hype. The console price is understandable, but the game prices, let alone paying for Welcome Tour make no sense. It's not even just the tarriffs, because they're getting the same price spike in Europe and Canada.

I laughed at the concept of a $100 GTA 6 when the rumor first came out, I thought there was no way in hell they could charge *that* much, it's ludicrous! They'd be pricing out a ton of people!

The main issue I see with this is that people are still going to buy the switch and games for it, which will send a signal to everyone else that it's ok to charge 90 bucks for a game and it will become the standard price for all console games.
