Jesus foretells His death and resurrection.

Matt 16:21–28

21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

My impression of losing one's life is to set aside the desires we believed we wanted, the objectives we thought were worthy of our best efforts. In faith, we "sacrifice" these desires and follow Jesus Christ in service to others. We discover that the sacrifice we thought we were making yields an even greater reward. We are more capable and resourceful than we knew in our own understanding. Our works have greater impact not only for this life, but with an everlasting return for our efforts.

Two nights ago, I couldn't help but think about all Lord Jesus Christ has done for me. For everyone past, present and future. I thought about all His pain, suffering and Him dying a slow, painful death for ALL OF US. I couldn't help but think of how me sinning was breaking His heart. I felt extremely guilty. I was laying there... In bed thinking about all of this. I felt overwhelmed. I got out of bed, and go to my knees. I confessed that I'm a sinner. I asked for His forgiveness for my sins. I poured my heart out to Him. I told Him how I guilty I felt for breaking His heart after all He sacrificed for me. He gave up His life so I could have mine and have a relationship with God, and the possibility of Eternal life! He gave me life, unconditional love, took my sins on Himself by DYING and SUFFERING for me! For us! He gave up EVERYTHING for me. What did I give Him in return? Pain and heartache. I broke the Lord's heart because of how I've been living my life. I BEGGED Him to forgive me and told Him how I know I've done wrong. How I FINALLY realized I was HURTING HIM! I got back into my bed and sobbed uncontrollably for several minutes. Then, all of the sudden I felt peace. I've been told it was the Holy Spirit working in me, God letting me know He forgives me, He was softening my heart, that He was comforting me. I CHOSE to surrender to Him. I FORFEITED my free will. Because I dont want to live life how I was or wanted to. I asked Him to use me the way He wanted to.. Asked Him to use me for His purpose. It's very important to turn to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If you haven't done so yet, please do while there's still time! Lord Jesus Christ is coming SOON! Time is almost up! Change your hearts, change your lives, turn to Jesus while you still can! Get to know Him. Have a relationship with Him. He's the ONLY way to eternal life! Take this warning seriously! Don't wait til the last minute!
