Huge props to Polgar for being ranked 8 in the world at her best (among THE best at the time), what an absolute unit of a chess player

It’s so impressive how constant the success of Pia Cramling is she surpassed 2400 literally 40 Years ago and always stayed above this line till today and even was a 2500 for a long time with a peak of 2550

I think Hou Yifan could probably have overtaken Polgar as the greatest ever female player if only she'd focus on chess, but despite not doing so and balancing a career as a professor she's still the best female player currently active.

Nearly 20 years later and Judit Polgar remains the only woman to ever cross the 2700 mark!

I saw both the men and woman's best players time line. And whats interesting is that there is always one player who is much better then all other players (by rating at least). Why could that be?

Vera Menchik had a peak rating of 2535 in 1929. Between 1927 and 1939 there were 7 matches for the world women's title, and she won all of them.
