Writing firmware driver for I2C is a lot more complicated than SPI. If not done properly, I2C can hang the bus, preventing further communication.

Thanks for the clear differentiation between the protocols.
I am working on interfacing 4 microcontrollers for a master-slave system (all 4 are the same - MSP430FR21xx family).
Based on this video and the controller specifications, I think I2C will be better suited, but my professor insists on using the SPI.
Can you provide some opinion?

Really nice video. I have a question. CanI use a I2S expension board with I2C connection. In other words, are the two compatible? I want to add sound to a Raspberry pie pico and it only has I2C. What should I do? Thanks.
