I don't feel like you really explained anything in this video

Our home was done in CPVC around 26 years ago. I've noticed when replacing faucets and shutoff valves in the last few years that the CPVC is becoming somewhat brittle. I have been toying with the idea of replacing all of the plumbing in the house with PEX.

Hot water doesn't freeze faster. The Mpemba effect was proven not to exist when the comparison is equal.

All those tools and you didn't go into more depth? PEX won't crack or burst when frozen, it also is used in home fire suppression systems too.

I’ve done that experiment (hot/cold in ice trays) and the cold froze faster.

So what are the differences? They both "freeze" is a similarity and sounded like like the guest was trolling someone

Disappointed that you never talked about the different manufacturers, rehau, wirsbo, and the home depot garbage you had on your table..

They are materials that offer options. To each his/her own take.

That hot water thing is not relevant when the water is in a closed container. If you do that test and put cling wrap over the trays then the outcome would follow common sense

"This this this" You're holding two pipes that look the same, you have to say pex or cpvc, not "this"

There's less air in hot water than in cold water, it's the cooling of the air bubbles that takes longer.

Hot water freezes faster??
Ya i believe nothing you say ever again.

Hot water freezes faster due to the expanded volume so that there is less to freeze than room temp or cold water. Also the greater the temperature difference in a given system the faster the two reach thermal equilibrium.

Cpvc should have been taken off the shelves years ago. An absolutely horrendous product in terms of longevity. Super cheap and easy work with when new but it's like most things you get what you pay for. 10, maybe 15 years on hot lines and they start to fail. I personally have been in hundreds of flooded houses because of this joke of a product. What is truly sad, is "professional plumbers" are still using that stuff even though their name and reputation is on the line. More like "HACKS". I'll turn down jobs if a customer insists on installing products that I know will fail over a short period of time. Because when, not if it fails, they will tell everybody and their mother who installed it.
