As a Brazilian, I can say that corruption fucked up the economy in the last 5 years in a way that unemployment went from less than 5% in 2014 to a staggering 13% in 2019.

In India corruption is the norm when it comes to dealing with any government official be it a traffic police constable or a high court judge. So called public servants are exploiting people. Digitization of all processes requiring government involvement and making interactions with the government impersonal through online/digital medium can reduce corruption to a great extent.

As long as the ruling class and owning class remains the same, conflict of financial interest will exist, so is the corruption.

Odebrecht.. I don't like Messi being in a video about corruption, he's a soccer star not a corrupt government official. I don't think corruption is going anywhere, just ask any mexican politician.
There's a saying in Mexico that says "Corruption is not destroyed, it only changes".

In South Africa, there's Cool Drink Money. Some people are out here getting R50 000 000+ worth of Cool Drink Money. The JMPD tend to request about R50 to R200. Tip: Don't bribe anyone when you come to South Africa, because those who are caught receiving bribes also expose those who gave them the bribes.

Money looted in corruption is less damaging as compared to non exemplary punishment of the known corrupt . This is because the non exemplary punishment of the known corrupt attract the new corrupt, criminal minded to those seats of power.
