In the end, Homura finally got what she had wanted for so, so, long. A world where Madoka could be happy.

It seems the movie ended the same it started, with the girls living happy lives in a seemingly perfect world that is secretly being influenced and/or controlled by Homura.

The last timelines, before and after Madoka's last wish, were cruel places. This new world order is a happy place but nobody's agency is respected.
There's no winning. It boils down to whether the individual prefers the ugly truth or the noble lie.

I just made a discovery: the runes at the end spell "Wer hat getreäumt", which is German for "Who dreamed?" I think it may be relating to all of the magical girls in the Puella Magi universe. Homura created this perfect world for everyone to live in. It was a "dream" that Homura had when she made her wish. Heck, it was a dream of all magical girls to get themselves out of the Law of Cycles and avoid the dark fate that came with their contact. Now that the "dream" or wish was finally granted on her terms, it leave you wondering, though, who's dream was it really? Was it Homura through her wish? Was is Madoka with her good nature and instinct to protect her friends and family? Perhaps it was Mami hoping to no longer be alone, or Kyoko finding peace in a world without her family, or Sayaka finding happiness through her friends, with or without Kyosuke. That's my theory on it, but it's really cool to see that question being asked at the end.

Homura really it's so kind cause she did not only created a happy world for Madoka...She created a happy world for everyone :)

I have been thinking through the ending of the movie and I always end up at the conclusion of: "There is no fucking good decision!". Madoka wished to make everyone happy but ended up cursing Homura with even more tormenting solitude than that she was experiencing... Homura wished to protect Madoka and grant her a happy life turning herself into a lie in the process ending up in miserable loneliness again....

The only real problem with this world it´s how unstable it is, just like Homura herself. With time it will break apart naturally, and Homura is the only who will suffer the most for it.

I was ambivalent about Homura's actions at the end of the movie.

Then I saw this, and I realized she did nothing wrong.

Please note, I am looking at this ending as if it's real, not "is this ending well executed or not"

Is this really so bad? It's a fake world, but so what? They're living a happy, normal life, together. Bebe, mami, kyoko, sayaka, and madoka...they're all together living happily. That isn't what it was like in the real world. Plus, the incubators will try to put Madoka and other magical girls into deep despair and turn them into witches for energy if Homura didn't do anything and accepted Madoka's hand into heaven...So, if anything, this is the best possible outcome.
That's why I love this series. The best possible outcome isn't really that great. It's bittersweet.

0:31 is all Homura ever wanted. To see Madoka smiling...

Its so nice to see that at the end everyone's better. And I love how Madoka still have those ribbons on. The ones she gave to homura, and which homura gave back to Madoka, not remembering anything about the bad past.

This scene is just so powerful. It just hits in a way that makes me come back here every time in a while. Still remember how I felt when I first saw it...
MadoMagi Rebellion is a wonderful piece of art, and this particular scene has to be my favorite part of all the series. ♡

#Homuradidnothingwrong

But in all seriousness, this ending is more perfect than I could've imagined. Sure she took away their powers and their memories, but isn't that a good thing? Being a magical girl was hell, she knew that better than anyone. It's nice to know now that they can be free from their cruel fate thanks to her. And this ending is definitely better than the series/Eternal's, because Madoka becoming God was the right thing at the time, but it wasn't the perfect solution. Look at what it did to Homura, Kyouko and Mami. Yeah.

I'd be lying of course, if I'm not looking forward to the next installment where Homura can't take on those Wraiths or the duties required by the Law of Cycles within her barrier alone and starts breaking even further...which will cause the others (especially Sayaka) to have to step in and fix everything.

I watched all 3 movies back to back for my first time i watching the series and the ending was imo perfect. Madoka gets to live the life she was supposed to in the end, all of them did. Its the happiest depressing ending i hoped for

I can't stop obsessing over Madoka and hoping to hear some good news about a sequel to this for a change.

0:18 to 0:21 Mami and Nagisa are together. 0:27 to 0:31 Madoka and her family. I feel relieved and happy that Madoka finally come back and reunited with her family. I can finally sleep well. I dream I want to go out with Madoka Kaname after school after watching this movie. I also miss Sayaka Miki after the ending of the TV series. I love the ending have all 5 main magical girls and Nagisa Momoe survives.

I always compare this scene as it was a dream. It feels like a dream world. They're stuck living in a fantasy made for them.
