Without the fall, she would have scored 14.100. With the fall, she did not complete a connection, though. The Chinese gymnast scored 14.100 and D'Amato scored 14.366. So, she would have arrived third, as the difficulty of Zhou's exercise was higher (6.6 vs 6.2). Anyway, congratulations to all the gymnasts. The beam is a very difficult apparatus and it does not forgive, unfortunately.

I've been following gymnastics since early 90s when I was a little girl and loved watching Shannon Miller. This is the first time I've ever seen any gymnast (Biles) get a deduction for not saluting the judges properly (at an elite level...) Anyway, Congratulations Alice!

You can tell that she isn't her full self today. But having that said, it means nothing when you're an olympian. When you perform with so many others that are fully capable too on that high level, there is no room for mistakes. You either give your best performance or someone else will. In my eyes they are all great and strong human beings. They do things that most people will never do and each of them deserve respect for their hard work
