Foot ulcer is the most common diabetic infective problem seen in uncontrolled diabetics or it will be longterm diabetes mellitus which is uncontrolled which usually give out complications like ulcers which is mainly seen in foot. It is because of the impaired microcirculation and neuropathy. Once this develops it becomes very difficult. So prevention is always better. Prevention of DFU is simple and it has to be followed in steps. The first thing is you have to control the diabetes. The second thing would be the care of the foot by usage of clean socks and microcellular rubber shoes where we have to prevent the injury on a daily basis. Legs have to be cleaned correctly with a good proper soap and clean stockings have to be used in order to prevent the injuries. Nail trimming on daily basis would be ideal because it can also cause accidental injuries to the foot. After proper cleaning of the foot especially in between toes and clefts self examination on daily basis would be definitely helpful in order to check if there are any injuries. On an average every 30 seconds an extremity is amputed because of the complications of diabetes mellitus. So this has to be prevented by all the means and the best way is to take care of these things. Once there is an ulcer which turn into gangrene if unattended it becomes difficult to treat. Apart from this regular physical exercises, praanayama would definitely help in controlling the diabetes and keeping yourself healthy.
