Two-thirds of our planet is covered with water, but there is not so much fresh water. Its global reserves account for only three percent of the total, and they are very unevenly distributed. Russia is lucky: we have enough rivers and lakes and we have little idea how you can experience a lack of fresh water, and in fact for some countries this is a serious problem. They try to solve it in different ways. Perhaps the most ambitious project was tried by Muammar Gaddafi in Libya: his amazing creation is known as the Great Man-made River.
