As an person who worked at a McDonalds in Japan I can confirm that the kitchen is pretty well organized, there is a manual with rules that you had to follow for basically everything and if you make something a little different they will tell you to do it as exactly how is written. Also all the workers do actually care and try to do their best for the costumer so it is worth the price that the costumer is paying for.

The fact they actually gave you the syrup makes them 10 times better than the UK...

When it comes to food, or pretty much anything honestly, attention to detail is a PRIORITY in Japan and it shows. Here in American it’s all about quantity over quality.

Ik it's not Japan related, but here in Indonesia McDonald's is like our comfort food. Even if every single store is closed and it's in the middle of a rainy night, you can always count on McDonald's to have your back.

In America, the McDonald's two blocks away has workers who snort Percocets and the McDonalds around the corner has speed addicts working the grill. Pick your poison.

McDonald’s in America is down to “how much does the staff actually care”. I imagine in Japan with their work culture, the staff always cares enough to make sure the food isn’t bad.

Franchises in Japan always strive for consistency.

Agree. I never ordered fries in America, but when I first went to the McDonald’s in my town, I decided to give them a try and my mind was blown. They were perfectly crispy, hot, and salted. As if they had just come from the fryer. I was blown away even more when I went again and they were the same. Truly a marvel in and of itself.

I think the biggest difference between McDonald’s in America is Corp vs Franchises. McDonald’s franchises tend to be run by cheap people that don’t give af about their stores because they are always going to make money so they do the bare minimum to keep their stores afloat. And are usually under staffed with people who hate their working conditions and do the bare minimum as well. Corp McDonald’s are ran better more strict and has much more consistency

Expat in Korea and I 100% agree with this. Having the same greasy McMorning on the weekend now reminds me of being in college back home.

Seriously one of the reasons I want to go to Japan is to try their McDonald's

McD's in America is like "Dont go to the one where everyone speaks English. Go to the one where more than half the staff speaks Spanish, the food and service is better."

McDonald in Asian countries and Hawaii is on a different level. It’s a must whenever I visit

some people go "Why would you go to mcdonalds if you're in a different country it's such a waste" but it really isn't! I think it's really interesting what different counties have as their normal menu items

The point of McDonald's is that every McDonald's everywhere is supposed to be the exact same. But looking at those eggs in Japan, those look actually edible compared to the styrofoam eggs we eat in the states, the rest looks pretty similar though
