According to the comments, some people are relying on this guy as a competent teacher. The ratio 15:25 is NOT the same as the fraction 15/25; it is equivalent to the fraction 15/40. If there is a 2:1 ratio of boys to girls, that means 2/3 of the people are boys, NOT that 2/1 [200%] of the people are boys.

Surely Khan this is wrong?
1:1 ratio would mean the fraction 1/2 of each thing.
Also 1:0 ratio is just 1 but if you convert it in this way then it makes no sense.
Also if x:y is the fraction x/y then why cannot we write this as y/x?

This is definitely wrong, so if you had a ratio of 3:2 that would be 3/2... no off course not it would be 3/5.

3 blue counters : 2 red counters
How many in total? 5
So the fraction of blue counters is 3/5. This is terribly wrong and I don't understand why everyone has taken his word for it.

I have a question
For ratio form does have to be the smallest number to the biggest number like 2:4 or does it have to be like 4:2?
