I love ccd sensor cameras; I have the D200, D70 & D50 also a collection of 10 ccd bridge superzooms.

Old cameras are the best. they are simple, robust, cheap and available everywhere and it just sparks the motivation to go out and take pictures. CCD sensors / colors rock !

Thanks for sharing your Nikon collection
Still shooting and loving my 20 year old D 200.

My favorite thing about the d50 is how bad the images look on the rear screen. Then I load them on my pc and I’m just like oh that looks way better than I I thought it would. The rear screen sets the bar so low that it’ll make every photo a surprise when you open it haha.

Started with a D3200 then got a D700, it's been great, never regretted anything about it, awesome tank of a camera!

The D50 is what lit my candle, too.
I didn't know anything about CCD vs CMOS. I took it on vacation with a 50mm 1.8 D lens, and I was blown away by the images. I ran out and bought another one right away. When I discovered the CCD angle, I ran out and got the D100, and so on. To this day, if you asked me what camera surprised me the most. The D50. It's built like a tank. The battery lasts, It has an AF motor and beefy grip. It's even somewhat weatherproof. I used it in high humidity, and the seals held up. My Nikon DLSR'S in the stable👇 I like them all and wouldn't part with any of them.

D50x2 CCD
D100x2 CCD
D200 CCD
D3000 CCD
D3100 CMOS
D5000 CMOS
D5300 CMOS 24 mp
I use them mostly with:
35mm 1.8 DX G prime
50mm 1.8 DX G prime
85mm 1.8 DX G prime
50mm AI AF 1.8 D x2

They're all great. The D3100 is smaller, easy to carry and has an easy menu to navigate. It's lightweight and the smallest of my bodies. I don't use a neck strap so walking around with it in my hand feels comfortable. The D3100 camera also gets my attention for bang for the buck because of its picture quality and size. The D5300 24 MP is my daily driver. It's strength is sharp images, and at 24mp, it's handy if you plan on making large prints. I have a special place for my D50. That's always going to be my ATF but the D200 is worthy of that distinction. Give these cameras light they will perform. The "D" to me means daylight. That's where these cameras deliver. Great video. I have respect and admired your work. Great pictures.

I stuck to CCD Leica sensor cameras for years because of the organic look of the photos. Recently I purchased a Leica M8, a camera I used and loved in the past before selling it when I purchased an M9 Monochrom. I sold the M9 Monochrom when I purchased a Leica Q2M (which I absolutely love). I missed the M8 and loving having it back. I recently put in an order for a Nikon D200 and can’t wait to start using it. At a fraction of the cost of a Leica M8, I’m feeling very excited about it. The portraits I’ve seen on social media done with the D200 seem to have the same organic look I love in my M8 photos. I call it the sweet spot between digital and film photography. I trust I won’t be disappointed. 🙏🏽

I got back into photography at the suggestion of my doctor. “Do something that you love, ” so during COVID I bought a Nikon D3200 and the 18-55mm kit lens. Off to the races! I now have a Nikon 1 J1, my old FM2, and now I have two mirrorless cameras in my collection (Z50 and Z5). After seeing videos like this, now have my sights on the D2X and the D300S. Great video!

This was really enjoyable. Thanks Steven for showing what these older digital cameras can do. As you say, it’s all about the character that these cameras give images. I bought my D200 because of your review and now you have me looking out for a backup. More of these camera collection videos please, your relaxed style and knowledgeable approach makes this a favourite channel.

Also, maybe this won’t get much views, but I personally would love a series of your cats 🐈 just maybe with your favorite camera and lens combo? Just an idea! 😊

Thank you for sharing! Another great video. It is greatly appreciated that you give these older cameras a breath of fresh air and show everyone you don’t need the newest gear to enjoy photography.

Oh also, we definitely need more of these videos for the other brands.

I've never owned Nikon but that may change seeing your enthusiasm for the D200, great video!

I’ve owned my Nikon d90 for a year at this point. Broke my ankle and had some spare time to get into photography and bought the d90. Absolutely love it, use it for car photography and it’s so much fun to use. I also managed to get a Nikon d50 free from my school which is also so much fun. I find myself using the d50 for day to day stuff and the d90 whenever I go to car shows. Old cameras rock

My wife dug up her old d5000 and gave it to me. It’s minty but haven’t used it much yet. Fell in love with a 30 dollar Olympus e420 4/3! I’ll dig into the Nikon soon though

growing up my first "real" Camera was the D100 and i took some of my most favorite photos with that thing and learned so much from it. I also had a d90 that was huge leap forward and helped me learn even more about photography. then i moved to the D700 (Which i highly recommend you pick up) and that gave me the opportunity to see what full frame was about and let me shoot in low light. I now shoot on my D800E for most of my paid work which is also a fantastic deal of a camera and it's highly underrated. I found a D200 not long ago for like 120 bucks like new with like 2k shutter actuation's on it. I've been doing a lot of macro work with it and it is just fantastic. I can't get enough of it. I've never been disappointed by a Nikon DSLR.

Absolutely agree. I love my D200. I also have a D7200 which I use a lot but the D200 is magic..

My Nikon journey went from D70s to D300 to D700 to Z fc. And recently back to D200 due to its bigger CCD sensor compared to the D70s. All still work flawlessly, and as a Nikonista I wouldn't switch to any other brand.
